Essencia - new Peruvian restaurant in Hayes Valley

We tried newcomer Essencia in Hayes valley last night. Now we love Mochica and it is really hard to beat out Mochica but I think Essencia has done it! The service was execellent and the food amazing. They use Pecans in their aji de gajina, the artichoke, chanterelle and quinoa risotto is amazing and wines were excellent. This may be a new favorite in Hayes Valley.

Bar Jules-New Restaurant in Hayes Valley

We were stopping by the travel store in Hayes Valley tonight when we walked by Bar Jules, right next door to my favorite Suppenkuche. The menu changes daily, focused on local and sustainable food. We had the tournip soup, baby lettuce salad and the pulled pork...all delicious. They do not take reservations, good date spot.
