Smokey starts doggie bootcamp

Today Smokey took his first step towards an era of better behavior. Note that he is great at home and lots of fun, he just does not like other dogs. The goal is to have a dog that we can easily walk around the neighborhood and not worry about him getting spooked by other dogs. A big goal would be to be able to have him run off leash with many dogs at Crissy Field. In order for that to work we need to get full control over him. Today was a tough day for the dog owners as it is more a discipline model. A bit like watching your kid get dragged off to juvi or military school. Note that feeding him lots of treats and the 100% postiive no correction model did not really work for Smokey. He is smart and has character and if you give him an inch he will look for a foot. Here is to hoping that in a few weeks there will be a video on here of Smokey playing with other dogs at Crissy Field.

He is great with kids, too! Hoping all the best to Smokey in doggie boot camp.
