One Lap Top Per Child (OLPC)

Kelly and I (yes, Jose is actually writing a post!) were looking for a way to do something good for society and decided that the One Lap Top Per Child (OLPC) program was the way to go. OLPC was founded by Nicholas Negroponte from the MIT Media Lab with the goal of getting cheap, easy to use computers to children in the developing world. The design of this computer is truly amazing: water proof, dirt proof, wireless, runs open source programs, built in camera for photos and video, great sound, music editor and much, much more. As part of the program last year you could purchase an additional machine for yourself (pictured here) which our niece Bridget will be receiving for her big 6th birthday (I hope she isn't reading this blog!).

You can still donate and it is such a great program and all laptops donated are tax deductible.
